ABSTRACT:
To
maintain the fast economic growth of China, its energy system is subject
to many challenges and needs to conduct a systematic transformation. In this
presentation, an up-to-date overview of the energy situation in China will be
provided firstly, followed by a discussion on the underlying issues which cause
energy wasting systematically by decomposing annual energy consumption into
three categories as capital-formation-driven, export-driven and
final-consumption-driven. Based on these understandings, an overall insight
into China’s
energy system and a holistic view of energy conservation strategy are
illustrated.
